The Masters Preview

*** Written yesterday***

A tradition unlike any other, this time it comes a little bit later than normal. The Coronavirus pandemic delayed the Masters original competition date back in April, but now we are graced with college football, NFL and the Masters all on the same weekend. The two main stories to be focused on this weekend is Tiger Woods defending his green jacket and Sergio Garcia, the 2017 Masters Champion has tested positive for coronavirus and will not be competing in this week’s tournament.

The down-pouring rain has ravaged the east coast in the last twenty four hours and the first round of the golf tournament has been delayed, it is up in the air if the first round will be played at all today. If that is the case, we will most likely see some round one holes played tomorrow and into Saturday with a potential final round bleeding into Monday.

The Masters, without a doubt is my favorite golf tournament of the year, it showcases skill, thought and the precision to be a champion on golf’s biggest stage. The field is absolutely stacked with today’s best players along with legends of the Masters past. All eyes will undoubtedly be on Tiger Woods, I think it will extremely difficult for Tiger to contend for his sixth green jacket but in a year like 2020, anything is possible, especially when sports and schedules have been spun upside down because of the pandemic.

Here are my top ten picks for the tourney:

10. Lee Westwood
9. Phil Mickelson
8. Paul Casey
7. Tony Finau
6. Brooks Koepka
5. Dustin Johnson
4. Tommy Fleetwood
3. Jon Rahm
2. Xander Schauffle
1. Webb Simpson
