Greetings from beautiful West Lafayette, Indiana! Home of the Purdue Boilermakers, and the newest home of sports gambling in the United States! Last week, I broke even with a 2-2 split following a BRUTAL 1-3 day. So, if trends are to be believed, today we should cruise right into a clean 3-1 before sweeping the Sunday games tomorrow.
If you are looking for some solid information to base your own picks on, head over to @kscors2199 blog breaking down the divisional action with honest to God facts and figures. Here, we go with our guts and break down what we see with our very own eyes.
Minnesota Vikings @ San Francisco 49ers (-7) O/U 44.5
Now that we can no longer get this slander off towards Kirk Cousins, we should all be very afraid of this Vikings offense. Before, you could rely on the Vikings quarterback to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory and head to Twitter for some A+ reaction gifs of the inevitable. Now, he’s a legitimate quarterback with high-caliber receivers and a world-class running back in Dalvin Cook.
On the San Francisco side, they’re coming into the game following a bye week and gave that stifling defense a week to prepare their legs for a revitalized Vikings offense. While Jimmy Garoppolo, is starting his first ever playoff game, relying on a favorable home crowd and a stout running game should minimize the typical playoff game jitters. For all the focus on Jimmy G, the running attack led by Tevin Coleman should get plenty of touches today as the try to keep Stefon Diggs and Adam Thielen off the field.
If you follow us on Instagram, you know that I love San Francisco to cover the 7 and the over. I feel more comfort in Kirk Cousins hitting a backdoor over than I do him winning another road playoff game outright. If they win today in spite of all this, they may just be the NFC entrant in the big later this year.
I am taking the over here as well. Lets root for points and good offense this afternoon.
Tennessee Titans @ Baltimore Ravens (-10.5) O/U 47.5
Wow. Who would have thought that New England would have lost to Ryan Tannehill? Certainly not me last week. Tom Brady and the Pats are no longer here, and now a team that gives Derrick Henry the ball the way his old high school team did, is playing in Baltimore and testing the limits of superstar Lamar Jackson.
For the Titans, they need Derrick Henry to carry them and keep the ball out of Tannehill’s hands for the game. Any sustained lead by Baltimore will be good night Irene for the Titans Cinderella story. We all know Baltimore’s story. BIG TRUSS. Big weapons. Fancy spin moves. Will the week off prove to have upset the Ravens chemistry as they look to protect home field. As @kscors2199 and I broke down on the Live video, I like Baltimore to cover the 10.5, because of their raw offensive power and the relentless amateurism of Tannehill.
I like the under here because I simply do not believe the Ravens will get enough help from Tannehill to hit the over.
Enjoy the games today, we have earned more football.
Mike was 3-5 last weekend. Thanks for nothing Tom Brady.
